- The song "Fire Woman" is a cover song that was originally recorded by The Cult.
- The song "Is It You" is a brand new song recently recorded for this album.


The album is AWESOME, and I keep listening to "Is it you" over and over: it's such an awesome ballad...

My VERY favourite is the "Shadow and Hope" bonding one: it's very sweet, and shows a side of Shadow not seen everyday.

What's YOUR favourite, and why? (Please, don't tell me JUST the "Angry Shadow" one, people... xD )

Yup. SUCKED.


The issue was completely anti-climatic, lame and predictable.

Shadow just... appeared in ONE page and then disappeared, going who-knows-where, why, and how.
Overall, his appareance in this arc was almost... stupid. You know, like "LOL hi! 'Sup? Imma gonna unleash this Chaos/Tikal monster thing, and then I'll go: BRB! 8D "

I'm NOT looking foward to read the "Knuckles saga" in the next 4 issues, because Archie echidnas = boring...


Why, SU, WHY?! You started off SO well with the "Shadow saga"!

I want Team Dark ( + Hope Kintobor!! ) back!

I was looking for some good Shadow/Lancelot pics, when I found out two things:

1) Shadamy : Lancelot X Nimue
2) Shadow X OC : Lancelot x Guinevere

So...

1) I love Shadamy, but not in the Arthurian stories: Nimue (Amy) was Lancelot's (Shadow) foster mother, and real mother or not, it's KINDA wrong... O_o
2) Oh God... What's wrong with you people using the never-showed-ingame Guinevere as an excuse to transform your OC into her?

Seriously, people... o_o


On another topic, Sonic Universe #7 was pretty disappointing...: (All Hail!) King Shadow didn't do much, I have the feeling that he won't change sides and he will be defeated, and issues 9 to 12 will be about Knuckles (no, I don't hate him) and the never ending/strange-named echidna people...

This sucks... What about you?

QUESTION: I was wondering if Team Dark consisted of Shadow, Rouge, Omega, And Hope since she fits the pattern of people joining GUN to achieve their own goals?

Sure, she could be considered part of the greater team.

QUESTION: What was your reasoning behind puting Hope in the roles you've chosen for her both as apart of G.U.N. and as a member of Shadow's supporting cast?

Funny thing about Hope - initially she wasn't intended to be a supporting character. She was meant to be a plot device to sow discontent among the Overlanders in Robotropolis. It was reader demand that got her to stay in Knothole and actually have a role beyond "little girl." Except nothing much had come of it since then. So I wanted to give her a role - something to do - instead of just being and oddity among the mobians.

The fact that she looks like Maria and was already loosely connected to Shadow begged to be addressed. It'd be almost criminal to ignore it. But at the same time, "Shadow pines over little blonde girl" is just about as predictable as you can get. So I wanted to take the obvious and put a spin on it:
Hope is NOT Maria. She's sweet, she's kind-hearted, but she's also a grease-monkey. Maria was frail and idealistic. Hope is hearty and haunted by her family ties; she works for a better world with an entirely different mindset.

So you'll have Shadow with a few expectations, and you'll have Hope who's putting on a brave face in a pretty heavy situation, and we'll see how they play off each other. I think we'll see many more interesting stories with her as the kind of moral core to Team Dark than we would've gotten if she stuck around with the already well-rounded Sonic supporting cast.

( I always said Hope was an even more kickass version of Maria! )


QUESTION: If given the chance, instead of Universe, would you have made a series like Knuckles, but with another character, and who, if so?

Scenario: a spin-off book focused on one character, right? It'd be Shadow. He's got the most selling power and, aside from Knuckles, I have the most ideas for him. I'm really quite happy with Universe, though. This way we can have Shadow and Knuckles and other stuff. It's the best of all worlds.

QUESTION: You mentioned that fan popularity got Hope bumped up to a supporting character. In your opinion why is it that fandom embraced Hope but rejected Chris Thorndyke. In short what did Hope do right that Chris did wrong?

Hope had nothing and worked for a better place in life. She personally petitioned to stay in Knothole, she personally built the plane that would take her to new places (and take on a flying battleship solo) and has generally been proactive while taking her many hardships in an astonishingly mature way.

Chris was a whiny baby who fell back on tears and trickery to get what he wanted.

No contest.

QUESTION: Between Shadow and Rouge who is the leader of Team Dark?

Rouge.

QUESTION: Was it Sally's or Shadow's idea to get married? I always wondered how that came about...

I think it was a touch of both. I can't say I know who initiated, but Sally accepted it in an attempt to tone down Shadow's rule. Shadow would accepted it because Sally was a beloved monarch, and if it could win some people over it'd be one less army to fight.

QUESTION: We know that Sally never actually loved Shadow. What was King Shadow's and Queen Sally's "relationship" like outside of royal business, aka when they were together at home?

Very quiet, very cold, but civil. They probably lived on opposite ends of the castle most of the time. Theirs was a marriage of purely political means.
